• Everyone, not only those involved in direct
patient care, needs to have training in proper
body mechanics

MSD’s include disorders of the muscles, nerves,
tendons, ligaments, joints, cartilage, blood vessels
or spinal discs
• Be aware that risk factors related to MSD’s
include movements that result in repetition,
force, awkward postures, contact stress, and
vibration

words, unapproved abbreviations and policy variances (R.A.W.) could be
