Curriculum Night

Kyrene de los Ninos First Grade

We at Niños believe… that every student deserves the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college.

Behavior

Students will take responsibility for their behavior and recognize that their actions have either consequences or rewards.

• Students must respect and obey all teachers.

• Students must focus on learning and allow others to focus.

• Students must listen and follow directions.

• Students must use inside voices.

• Students must be in control of behavior.

School-Wide “Clip Chart”

Our classroom employs a clip chart behavior management system. This system promotes positive behavior choices and encourages students to self-monitor their behavior.

level. How it Works • Each student has a clothespin labeled with his/her name, and begins the day clipped to the center of the chart labeled “Ready to Learn.” • During the course of the day, students have the opportunity to move their clothespin up or down the chart according to their behavioral choices.

• Positive behavior choices allows the student to move his/her clothespin up one level, conversely, inappropriate behavior choices cause the clothespin to move down one We Aim to be TRRFCC Outstanding Great Job Ready to Learn Slow Down Think About It Parent Contact

TRRFCC

Outstanding Students who move to TRRFCC will add a gem to their clip, select a prize and take a happy note home!

Students who continue to make positive choices move up to Outstanding. They are one step closer to having a TRRFCC day!

Great Job Students who make positive choices will receive recognition as they move up the chart.

Ready to Learn Everyone starts the day “Ready to Learn”! Students can “clip up” or “clip down” throughout the day depending on their behavior choices.

Slow Down Think About It Parent Contact Students who receive a warning will move to slow down. This serves as reminder to think about the choices they make.

Students who continue to make poor choices will move to “Think About It” and go to our Refocus Desk and sign the book.

If a student continues to make poor choices, they will move to “Parent Contact.” Parents will be contacted via telephone, email or note depending on the severity of the behavior choice. Students have Refocus in another classroom or have an Office Referral.
