What is Open Access (OA):
 is a free, immediate, permanent online access to the
full text of research articles for anyone, web wide.
http://www.eprints.org/openaccess/
 Open-access literature is digital, online, free of charge,
and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions.
What makes it possible is the internet and the consent of
the author or copyright-holder.

There are two roads to OA:
(1) the "golden road" of OA journal-publishing, where
journals provide OA to their articles
(2) the "green road" of OA self-archiving, where
authors provide OA to their own published articles,
by making their own eprints free for all
