KEK Test Beam – Tracker Progress Contents:- Station Space Frame Light Guide Map Station Connectors Patch Panel & Connectors G.Barber KEK Test Beam Update, Berkeley 9 Feb 2005 1 Station Progress The 4th station is now under construction. The layout has a total of 30 connectors, 10 per view. Each connector has 22 holes instead of the previous 18 but all of these are not used in every connector. All 3 planes are glued and the ‘connectorisation’ is under way and will be finished by the end of this week. It will then undergo extensive checking before being potted. G.Barber KEK Test Beam Update, Berkeley 9 Feb 2005 2 Space Frame Components All of the components that make the space frame assemblies have been or are in the process of being manufactured. Tooling The jigs that align the space frames are all manufactured. One further development? There is still detail design to do to complete the assembly a list of outstanding items is on the next slide G.Barber KEK Test Beam Update, Berkeley 9 Feb 2005 7 KEK Test Beam – Tracker Progress To do list Final detail for the outer casing including the brackets to fix the assembly during transport and into the magnet. The modification that will allow the original prototype stations to be married to the new space frames A new patch panel to be made or the existing one modified. The space frames to be assembled Polishing of the 4th station G.Barber KEK Test Beam Update, Berkeley 9 Feb 2005 8 Conclusions There is still a number of items to design and detail and a few outstanding items to manufacture but overall we are in pretty good shape. In the next month we hope to complete and be ready to ship so that we/I can concentrate on the final tracker design. G.Barber KEK Test Beam Update, Berkeley 9 Feb 2005 9
