Welcome to the Community
This slide show is to provide you with additional
information about the College; its many
resources, the culture and the organization, and
to make you feel a part of the Randolph
community.
Purpose
• Randolph College offers a liberal arts education in a setting where
living and learning are integrated and where students are prepared
for meaningful personal and professional lives.
• All members of the College community contribute to this
enterprise.
• The curriculum stresses both breadth and depth in learning through
the general education, major and concentration programs.
• A Randolph College education is designed to foster a wide range of
abilities and attitudes that will serve the graduate well in whatever
personal and professional roles she/he adopts.

Overview of Departments
Admissions Office
Is responsible for recruiting students, processing applications, and
enrolling domestic and international students. Recruitment
involves off-campus, on-campus, direct mail, publications, and
web-based recruitment programs.
Alumnae/i Office
Serves as a point of contact for the many alumnae/i. It sponsors
various programs to keep the alumnae/i in touch in addition to
working closely with Admissions and Development.
Approximately 13,000 alumnae.

Business Office
Manages the College’s accounts payable, expense
reimbursements, student tuition accounts,
departmental budgets, and cashier for student
organizations.
Buildings & Grounds
Maintains grounds and coordinates maintenance and
housekeeping operations/activities across campus.

Career Development Center
Provides comprehensive career counseling for students and
alumnae/i of the College. Professional staff members are
available to personally assist students in identifying and
assessing possible career choices. Our career planning
services include career assessment, job search strategies,
career-related workshops such as resume, cover letter
writing, interviewing and developing a personal brand. The
Career Development Center (CDC) also offers opportunities
to network with graduates, attend career and graduate
school fairs, and assistance with graduate and professional
school applications. Students can gain valuable information
by investigating specific career options through
externships(job shadowing), internships (credit and noncredit bearing).

Office of College Relations
Is responsible for providing clear, consistent, and
engaging messages that promote a better understanding
of the College and its mission, and delivering those
messages to the widest possible audience. This is done
through print publications and the College web site,
community and media relations efforts, and by providing
assistance to other departments in accomplishing
objectives consistent with the College’s mission.

Counseling Center
Provides mental health counseling to students
during the academic year. The Counseling Center
staff also provides consultation to faculty and staff
when they are concerned about a student, crisis
intervention, and training to student groups such as
RA’s.
Dean of the College
Is the main resource for information concerning
all areas of the academic program and faculty life
here at the College.

Dean of Students
Has primary responsibilities for student life on
campus from health and counseling to residence halls.
Development Office
Is responsible for creating opportunities for alumnae/i,
parents, friends, corporations, and foundations to make
charitable gifts to the College.

Dining Services
Provides meals for students, faculty and staff during the fall
and spring sessions. Dining Services also provides catering.

Dinner $6.65
Ethyl Center in Martin Science Building
Provides students with a place to both study and relax.
The study area has reference material for math and
sciences as well as a computer lab.

Human Resources
Is responsible for staff and faculty benefits enrollment
and administration, payroll, staff employment and
compensation, workers compensation, and ensuring
that the College is in compliance with Federal and
State Guidelines involving personnel policy.

Office of International Programs
The OIP assists current students interested in study
abroad with the application and financial aid
process. Students may apply to attend semester or
academic-year programs in the junior year or choose
to study abroad during the summer, either with
Randolph College faculty on summer study seminars
or with a program sponsored by another institution.
The office is located in the Career Development
Center. For more information, contact the Director
of International Programs, Maureen Kiernan, at Ext.

Lipscomb Library
Houses approximately 170,000
volumes, in addition to providing
over 600 current magazines and
journal titles with back files on
microfilm and paper. There is an
extensive holding in audiovisual and
domestic and foreign newspapers.
Also available is an online catalog.

Campus Store
Located in Caldwell Commons, the campus store offers a wide variety
of items beyond the normal textbooks. They have items for sale
ranging from trade books on the best sellers list to clothing and office
supplies. Staff and faculty receive a 10% discount.
Maier Museum of Art
Houses the College’s distinguished 19th & 20th century
collection of American art. The museum serves both the
academic community and the general public free of charge.
Open Tuesday -Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Nursery School
Located in the lower level of the Health Center offers a relaxed, but
structured, learning environment for children who have reached their 3rd or
4th birthday on or before September 30 of the current year.
Open September through the first week of June, 5 days a week, offering
part-and full-day sessions. In addition, the nursery school offers half-day
summer camp program.

Mail Room/Copy Center
A full-service post office operated by the College. Hours are 9 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is a bulk copier available for
use, charging back expenses to the appropriate departments. In
addition, the Copy Center has negotiated discount rates with an
outside vendor for copying/printing (letterhead, business cards, forms,
etc.).
President’s Office
Is the chief executive office on campus wherein campus policies,
programs, and activities are authorized. Current President of the
College is Dr. Bradley Bateman.
Overview of Departments
Randolph Athletic and Dance Center (RAD)
Houses the following equipment /resources: billiard and ping pong
tables, swimming pool with specified swim hours; aerobics room
with classes available; dance studio; weight and fitness room; and 8
tennis courts adjacent to the PER building. A listing of open facility
times and class schedules may be obtained by contacting the RAD
staff. As a new staff or faculty member you should have also
received a certificate for a free consultation from Human
Resources.

Registrar’s Office
The Registrar’s Office registers students in
academic programs and maintains student
biographical and academic records.

Riding Center
The Riding Center is a 100-acre tract located about 15 minutes from
the main campus. The center has an indoor arena, 40 stall barn,
outdoor teaching ring, amphitheatre show ring,
turnout paddocks for privately owned horses,
and a student lounge and dressing room.
Student Financial Services
Administers all student financial aid programs including scholarships,
grants, student and parent loans, and a work study program.

Safety & Security Department
Campus security is responsible for the safety of all students, faculty,
staff and visitors to the college community. The department was
outsourced in fall of 2005 to Securitas. The Security Department is
responsible for enforcing driving and parking regulations. Any person
wishing to park on campus, must register their vehicle(s) and display a
parking decal in the lower right hand corner of the rear window.

Filing a Reimbursement Request
For expenses over $50

Download a Reimbursement Request Form
from the portal. It will be under the “My Links”
section.
There are separate forms for business expenses
and travel/entertainment expenses.
Complete all necessary information, enter your
expenses on the appropriate line. (ex. airfare,
meals, etc.) Be sure to note the budget code in
the appropriate box.
If reimbursement form is in Business Office by
4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, you will receive a check
back on the same week on Friday. If not it will
be the following Friday.
Request for Reimbursement Under $50
1.
Take receipt to Business Office Cashier. Reimbursement must be
approved by department head.
2.
Have with you the appropriate expense account to be charged.
3.
Cashier Hours 1:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Check Request Form
1. Download a Check Request Form from the
portal. It will be under the “My Links”
section.
2. Complete form and get necessary approval
3. Attach invoice to back of request.
4. Checks are printed weekly on Friday.
Requests received after 4:30 p.m. on
Tuesday will be processed the following
week.

How to Report an Accident/Incident on Campus
• Notify your Supervisor immediately.
• Get needed medial attention using approved Panel of Physicians
(available on the Human Resource’s forms page,
http://www.randolphcollege.edu/x13821.xml) or if it’s an
emergency, call rescue squad.
• Complete Accident/Incident report within 24 hours of occurrence.
• Security is certified in First Aid, CPR & Bloodborne Pathogen, along
with training on the electronic defibrillator

How to Submit An Insurance Claim
• Present your Anthem insurance card at the
doctor’s office.
• If the doctor’s office does not file with
Anthem, you can download a Health
Insurance Claim Form from the Human
Resource’s Forms page

– Attach bill to the claim form.
– Mail to the address on the claim form.
