WHAT IS A STROKE?
A stroke is an interruption of the blood supply
to any part of the brain. Blood flow may be
interrupted because
1. a blood vessel(artery) bursts or leaks, causing
bleeding in the brain
2. a clot blocks blood flow to the brain
The brain controls the body. If a part of the
brain does not get blood, it is damaged, and
the part of the body it controls no longer
works right.
