To help all Prince Edward Islanders, aged 14-24, discover and achieve their unlimited potential.
Vision Statement (where we are headed) ‐ All Prince Edward Islanders between the ages of 14 and 24 have the opportunity for life-shaping and empowering self development, by challenging themselves to develop new skills, help others, be active, and seek adventure.
National and Provincial Structure The Award Programme is a youth development programme, not a youth organization. In Canada, the administrative structure is as follows: The National Award Board of Directors and Staff The Divisional or Provincial Councils and Staff The user Units (Groups or Independents)

Objectives Challenge young people between the ages of 14 and 24.
Be flexible enough to meet the needs and interests of all young people, regardless of: gender, ability, cultural background, geographic location, or socio-economic level.
Ensure that each participant “Reaches for his/her best,” while completing challenging goals.
Provide recognition for personal achievement within personal abilities and goals.
Help young people become responsible citizens

Minimum 6 months
Community Service:
1 hr/week for 3 months (6 months for Major)
Skill:
1 hr/week for three months (6 months for Major)
Physical Recreation:
1 hr/week for 3 months (6 months for Major)
Adventurous Journey:
preliminary training, practice journey, followed by a 2 day activity
Silver
Minimum 6 months –(12 months for Direct Entry; must select a Major)
Community Service:
1 hr/week for six months (12 months for Major)
Skill:
1 hr/week for six months (12 months for Major)
Physical Recreation:
1 hr/week for six months (12 months for Major)
Adventurous Journey:
preliminary training, overnight practice journey, followed by a 3-day activity

Minimum 12 months –(18 months for Direct Entry; must select a Major)
Community Service:
1 hr/week for twelve months (18 months for Major)
Skill:
1 hr/week for twelve months (18 months for Major)
Physical Recreation:

Silver Award recipients receive their Certificate of Achievement from the Lieutenant Governor. (Ceremony May 2013 at Government House.)

‐ Gold Award Achievers receive their Certificate of Achievement from a member of The Royal Family or the Governor General of Canada.
