IBM Flex System / PureFlex System Direction
 Maintain existing portfolio of Power based nodes and related Flex System
elements to support delivering BTO Flex Systems and PureFlex integrated
offerings
– Primary focus on Power clients needing converged infrastructure or needing highly
dense Blade-like platform
– Hybrid (Power + x86) environments are a channel enabled where clients or partners get
x86 content from Lenovo and Power content from IBM
• Clients can buy x86 nodes from Lenovo and integrate into same Flex environment
• A select set of x240 configurations will be available from IBM
– PureFlex integration continues to be available - initiated by RPQ
 Continue to drive full Power Portfolio in 2014 & 2015 as POWER8 system roll
out continues through 2015
– Integrated infrastructure solutions shifts more to POWER8 racks
– Power Sellers continue to receive revenue attainment for Flex System and PureFlex
 PureApplication and PureData Systems continue as appliance plays driven
by IBM SWG

Once RPQ approved, place the order with the RPQ and authorization number. The CSR placing the order will
need to manually add feature codes to specific hardware models depending on the configuration.
1. Add following list of minimal MTMs to the order; see below for minimal feature codes required for the
MTMs
2. Add EFDA to the following MTMs with qty 1. Note that in "d.“ and "e." only one compute node and one
Storage drawer should have EFDA.
a. 7893-92X
b. 7953-94X
c. 7955-01M
d. 7895-23X or 7895-23A or 7895-43X or 8956 15x
e. 2076-124
3. Add EFDF , qty 1, to all additional compute nodes (MT 7895, 7954, 8956) and to any additional
Storage drawers (MT 2076 124 and 224)
