Welcome To The Amazing Choose Your Own Adventure Game Story

By: Tyler D,

You wake up staring at a desk with two buttons. A voice booms overhead: “Welcome to the chose your own adventure game story, your testing number is #427, this game is full of choices, click the green button.”

Great job, you find yourself in a hallway, looking forward you see two doors, one that is a blue color that says male; the other door pink, reading female. What is your gender?

Male

Female

You find yourself sitting in a dark room. A voice above you booms:” I don’t know why we put that there; you must be one of those “rebels” I keep hearing about. Why don’t you just leave the testing facility so we can send another worthy subject in?” On your left there is a door that reads “exit”. On your right there is a door that reads “Employees only”.

Go ahead and leave

Enter the “employees only” room

Thanks for the honesty, now we can begin. You make your way through the blue door and make your way through what seems to be a never-ending hallway. Finally you make it to what seems to be a waiting room. The door closes behind you and again, a voice booms: “Please wait for your number to be called.” Then you look to what seems to be a passage into the next room; above it there is a “now serving” sign the number is on #6. You wait for around 5 minutes and it has not moved. This is taking so much longer than you thought it would.

Enter the room

Wait.

Wait.

You push your way through the exit door to see the blinding sunlight, or so you think it is sunlight. The door closes behind you. Looking behind you the door has disappeared so has the building. A shiver goes down your spine as you go through yet a second door, just wanting to go home. You can’t resist the feeling that someone or something is watching you. You start walking faster and faster until…

SMACK

. You hit, well nothing. Confused and scared you take in your surroundings very carefully. First looking around you to see that you are not outside, this is a room with paint on the walls. Then slowly feeling your way around you realize that the room you are in is quite small, maybe 12x12x12.

Look for another exit

Sit and cry. (Give up)

You push your way through the “employees only” door and the voice booms over you: “no-no-no you are not supposed to be here. Turn back immediately; you don’t want to see what is back here. It’s for your own good, I promise.”

Turn back and exit

Continue forward

You look up and the number flips to #7 and you are getting impatient. You walk in, through another corridor and get to a door with a keypad on it. Taped above is a sign that reads “Enter your number”. You think to yourself:

Lie (#7)

Truth (#427)

You stand for a few more minutes, watching the clock and the number finally flips to #7. You decide to wait it out and sit down. You decide to sit in one of the blue chairs; you look down at the wooden coffee table with outdated magazines and begin reading. After the painful hour and a half is up, the “now serving” sign finally flips to #427. You quickly get up, but not to quickly because your butt is numb from the uncomfortable chair you’ve been sitting in. Putting down your 2009 issue of Parents you walk through the cafeteria like doors to meet your next choice. You make your way to a black keypad with a sign taped above type in your number. Putting your right hand on top of the small black box, you use your thumb to type in #427. Your stomach starts to churn and you feel as if you are going down, very far down. Finally, realizing that the floor is an elevator. You hear a DING and your stomach stops. The wall opens up to reveal another room. One with just one chair and a small TV set. You sit down and a film starts to play, you see a person staring down at a desk with two buttons, you realize this is you. The loud voice booms again, this time not from overhead but behind you: Throughout your journey you have followed all of the rules, and have never asked a question. You stare at the screen fearing what is behind you, the video now showing you in the boy/girl room. The voice from behind continues to speak: I guess you are not curious why you’re here, not curious who are the other 40 people and where are they are or went, not curious who you are, not curious who I am, and not curious why you continue to sit and stare at the screen instead of turn around to see who I am.

15. Turn around

16. Continue looking at the screen

Panicking, you look around the small room for another exit.

You nothing. You are trapped.

Sit and cry (Give up)

You curl up into a ball, starting to cry. Wondering how long you will be stuck here, you begin to go insane. Slowly starting to laugh, turning into a giggle, then a cackle. Soon you begin to sound like mad scientist. Days pass and you slowly begin to rot, you soon see your skin wither away, showing bone. Then you realize that no one is coming to get you. You are locked in here to rot.

You Died THE END

You continue walking and one again the voice booms: “Turn back now, we are warning you.” But, you’ve already made up your mind, you continue walking. In front of you there was green cafeteria like doors, you push through. Inside was grey walls filled with red writing reading: Subject #1: Pressed green button, female, waited, terminated.

And it went on like this, all 426 people’s choices were written down all over the walls. The voice boomed once again: “warned you.” On the other side of the room there was another set of green doors. You rush through them through the doors and gasp. Behind the doors were walls and walls filled of human sized test tubes, filled with humans. You yell “why?!” There was no reply. The room then goes black and you sit and rot.

YOU DIED THE END

You punch in #7 and the keypad beeps saying NO in a robotic voice it shocks your finger, sending you into a seizure, giving you cardiac arrest, AIDS, and diabetes all at once. What a shame.

YOU DIED

You turn around to see no one, nobody, behind you. It is a small mirror, an idea. It was Curiosity. You stare at him looking at how angry it, he seems. As you look him, his rage starts to calm, he shrivels up into a ball crying, you get up and start to cradle him. Questions fill your mind, and then get answered immediately as if he could read your thoughts. Then he tells you should have clicked “find” on the ninth slide. You sit with him for eternity. Until you die of starvation.

THE END

The voice behind you turns into a bullet, speeding through the chair towards your heart you stare at the screen in front of you taking your last breathes it simply says “FIND.”

THE END

You look up and find a hole. Squeezing your way through the hole, you find yourself in a ventilation shaft. There are two directions left or right.

Left

Right

You crawl through the shaft until you find a room, trying to Tom Cruise your way in you slip and hit your head …

You crawl through the shaft until you find a room; you Tom Cruise your way in, making sure you are unnoticed. But, you didn’t need to, there is no one there. In the room there is simply a desk with a computer that says welcome to the Stanley Parable. You walk past it thinking nothing of it. You walk through so many rooms, jump off a lift, and eventually find yourself in a room filled with monitors. From #1-#500. Below the monitors on yet another desk there is two buttons. One reading mind control on; the other reading “mind control off”. You take a few steps back, were you being controlled this entire time? Could it be? Not thinking, you immediately hit on. To test if it is real; not in control of your body you immediately start choking yourself, and you know that this is it, it is over. Struggling you try to hit the off button but you can’t. You realize there is no winning in this game, and you are relieved.

The End?
