Móra Ferenc Primary School is the only primary institution of
Kerekegyháza where the children of the town and the nearby
towns, villages attend.
The old wing of the building was built in the 1920’s. It has
already made place for the school of the settlement at those
years. Subsequently, it was enlarged, rebuilt and developed
according to the expectations.

the students and the teachers could take the possession of the
restored, enlarged building in September, 2007.
More than 500 students attend the school. There are 8 Years. Not
only normal section exists but also a special section for children with
special needs.
More than 40 teachers take part in the education.
The number of the adult employees are more than 70 in the
institution. During everyday life children can acquire the bases of
writing, reading, calculation in junior section (class 1-4).
In senior section (Class 5-8) students can extend their knowledge at
special lessons such as language lessons, Computer Studies,
Chemistry, Biology, etc.
In the course of the teaching children can ease up at those lessons
when they can create – they paint, draw, stick, fold, etc.
The completed products regularly adorn our school.
They can be the decorations of the classrooms or they get to the
corridors or school hall as exhibition material.
The main tasks of our school are the everyday work, learning and
teaching, of course.
But children have the possibility to choose from a wide range of
programmes and activities.
Students spend their time usefully, such as collecting paper and
metal separately…
…do the gardening around the school…
…collect garbage around the town.
Artistic education also exists in the institution. Our students can
choose from music, fine arts, dance and drama.
Children who have the ambition to play a musical instrument can
choose from flute, pipe, clarinet, drums, piano, guitar.
If they would like to develop their singing knowledge, they can join
to the chorus of the school.
Those children who would like to create have the possibility to get to
know the various branches of fine arts, such as painting, graphic
arts, ceramics and so on.
Drama gives the chance for children to develop their acting talents
and promote our nice mother tongue.
The dance education assures students of the possibilities. They can
learn folkdance where they can get to know the dances, music,
songs of the Hungarian people.
Those who join the show-dance group can acquire various dance –
steps like the waltzers, cha-cha-cha, rock and roll, samba, rumba,
etc.
Our school is regularly represented by every artistic branch in
different competitions, meetings, programmes. During these events
our students get a lot of prizes, rewards.
During teaching children have the possibility to exercise at PE
lessons. After teaching they can exercise different kinds of sports.
They can choose as they like. There are several alternative
possibilities: football, handball, basketball, volleyball.
Mass-sport gives varied activities for children who would like to
commit themselves beside none of these kinds of sports but their
ambition is to exercise. They can rollerskate, play ball games, etc.
Teacher – student matches are very successful all the time. During
these occasions our students pit their wits against teachers in various
ball games. In our school there are several events where children can
pit their wits.
On these occasions the cleverer students of the classes compete for
the victory which means very very big honour.
As for the freetime programmes children and also their parents take
part in them with pleasure.
The success of each programme can be much more important for
children because we recruit them into the preparations.
There are several events when children can show their acting talents.
These possibilities are reader competitions or tale dramatizations.
Programme which gives entertainment for everybody are arranged by
every employee of the school.
In this way there can be programmes when it is possible to get to know
old-time food.
The fostering of the traditions is a very important part of our school life.
Whenever we have the chance, our students get know new things.
This kind of occasion was when children could be familiar with our
ancestor’s clothes, armaments and they could also get acquainted
with the handling of weapons.
Celebrations are very important for humanity. Our school gives
opportunities to commemorate our traditional celebrations such as
Santa Claus, Christmas, Carnival, national celebrations.
