Foundation Programmes
• Designed for learners who seek training at Entry
Level
• Focus on developing communication and
personal skills, health and safety awareness,
confidence, understanding of basic industrial
practice, work-related skills, transferable skills
such as English, maths and ICT skills
• Examples of current opportunities – IT,
Horticulture, Hospitality, Catering and Retail
Choices, Pathways and Prince’s Trust Courses
• A range of programmes targeting those who are unsure what they
want to do in the future, which can be used as stepping stones into
work or onto further programmes of study
• Focus on transferable skills, such as team working, developing
communication skills, leadership skills, improving English and
maths, employment skills and each are slightly different (see course
leaflets).
• Choices offers the opportunity to follow a vocational qualification
alongside the above. Choices programmes are currently offered in
Sport, Construction, Office Skills, Horticulture and Business
