It is located on the east Bank of the Chao Phraya River
The former name of this very old Buddhist temple was
Wat Samorai
King Rama IV renamed it to “Wat Rajadhivas Vihara” because
This temple was monk residence of his father-King Rama
II, his younger uncle-Maha Senanurak the front palace and
himself
This royal Buddhist temple was always restored under
the royal patronage of the “Palaces” from the reign of
King Rama I to the present reign of King Rama IX
