Discussion - Product Requests and Issues
Pupil Premium
Free School Meals
• Government is keen to include not just children currently eligible for FSM also children previously eligible for FSM.
• Government considering those children ever eligible for FSM within last 3
years or within last 6 years.
• FSM history to be introduced to Integris.
• Include within CTF 11 for school to school transfer (November 2011).
• Include within School Census 2012.
• DfE will look to provide schools with historical FSM data from previous
School Census returns.
• Schools will have to report to parents via their website how they have spent
the Pupil Premium money.
Attendance Regulations
Dual Registration
• Looking again at dual registered students and the use of the D code.
• Existing regulations around D code lead to double-counting in statistics...
• ... and present a headache to schools in recording absences at the other
school.
Attendance Regulations
Additional Data Collection
• Codes X and Y are not currently collected in School Census.
• DfE unable to monitor whether they are being used properly.
• DfE can’t monitor how many sessions are being lost to adverse weather
conditions, or how many sessions are recorded as ‘not required’.
• Discussing with suppliers feasibility of collecting data on the use of these
codes, while not placing additional burden on schools.
• So... it would be a good idea to check that these codes are being used
correctly within your schools....
Electronic Attendance
Time of Registration – a class register can only be edited by one person at a time.
A period of time should be agreed at the start of school when the teacher can have the
register open. Ie 08.50 - 09.10.
If the register is saved and closed at 09.10 the office staff can then input further Late
before registers closed and Unauthorised late, code U, after the time your school
policy stipulates registers have closed.
Which codes do you want teachers to use, the easiest way is using present and
N(No reason yet provided for absence) and I – Illness. Admin can then populate
Holiday, O, Unauthorised etc. As the O code indicates that it has been established as
an unauthorised, various reports that the office staff can run to return first day absence
pupils will not display the pupils with O code however I am aware that traditionally
many teachers use it in the manual registers so it does need some discussion.
Evacuation procedures – It is possible to set up G2 to generate an evacuation report
and email it to a designated address or some schools just do a total pupil count.
All Teachers will need to be set up with a user name and the Teacher role
assigned. Do you want TA’s to have access as well?
