Volvo Cars Open Innovation Challenge opens today!
The Volvo Cars Challenge event is arranged by Volvo
Cars and sponsored and hosted by Vehicle ICT Arena.
The event aims at creating active safety innovations
using the open innovation methodology.
The innovative ideas shall aim at new functions within
the area Active/Integrated Safety and Driver Support
that can be implemented in a VCC vehicle project
2015/2016.

JURY’S MOTIVATION FOR THE WINNER
… har skapat en ny kundfunktion som är originell, har tydligt
kundvärde, är okomplicerad och kan implementeras relativt enkelt.
Under den korta tävlingstiden har teamet åstadkommit en konceptuellt
färdig lösning som presenterades med simulinkmodell, dokumentation,
patentundersökning, utkast till patentansökan och en övertygande
videopresentation.

VCC INTERNAL REFLECTIONS
1.
Vehicle prototyping versus simulation: Better with hands on
– “learning by doing”, “seeing is believing”
2.
Needed internal VCC efforts to support the teams – more
than expected and different needs
3.
Why did not all members participate? Could we have been
more encouraging? Was the challenge too vague? Our aim
was to explore “no directions (but keep it simple)”. Are
thoughts different externally? We need feedback!
