Pre-Departure Preparation
Submit case to Austria
Positive desicion
i) Austrian MOI informs
– UNHCR Austria and
– IOM Vienna
Security and other assessment by Ministry
of Interior (MOI/BM.I)
Assessment of exclusion grounds
ii) UNHCR Austria informs UNHCR on the ground about positive desicion.
iii) IOM Vienna informs IOM on the ground accordingly.
iv) MOI instructs embassy to issue visa
Contacts in case BFA or the MOI/BMI requires more information from UNHCR:
Possible negative desicion
UNHCR Austria, where necessary cc the Austrian MFA, cc the Austrian MOI or Austrian BFA
Austrian MOI gets in touch with
UNHCR Austria to discuss the case.
Should it be considered necessary to conduct interviews with single candidates for the HAP, the BFA will
contact the MOI/BMI to ask the Austrian Liaison Officer at the Embassy in Amman to do so.

that IOM will contact them for
pre-departure preparation
and cultural orientation.
