Compartmentalized meal contains:

Sandwich or equivalent
Vegetable/Fruit
Juice – 100% Fruit Juice or Vegetable/Fruit Juice blend
A Variety of Fat Content Milk (is separate);
 Fat-Free chocolate milk and 1% white milk must be offered.
 Chocolate milk will be delivered for the lunch meal.
 If you have leftover fat-free white milk, it can be offered as
well.

Field Trip Notification
 If you are going on a Field Trip and will be eating any of your meals
in a different location other than the site address you have given
us, you need to notify us of the date and location of the field trip
prior to the beginning of Summer Feeding.
 If you are on a field trip that has not been scheduled with us and
you are inspected at this time, the meals will not be reimbursed
and you may be responsible for the payment of these meals.
Food Safety/Quality
 Temperature and time will be recorded on the
outside of the box.
 Discard after (4) hour window, if no refrigeration
is provided.
 Check meals upon delivery.

Food Preparation Delivery Requirements
 Only sites with 50 meal counts or higher
will be delivered.
 Less than 50 can be picked up at the
food preparation site.
 Call only when there is a change in
meals needed, no need to call
meal delivery count daily.
Site Requirements




Take a daily attendance everyday.
Order only for students in attendance.
All meals must be served complete.
Use slashes on Daily Lunch Log or roster check list
to count all meals.
 Submit Summer Feeding 2015 Daily Attendance and
Meal Count and keep a copy in a file on site for your
records.

Meal Counts
 Confirm actual meal counts on the first day of service by calling South
Mountain Middle School (SMMS) 484-765-4304
 Adjustments to daily meal counts can be made by calling preparation site
assigned to SMMS.
 Food preparation sites will adjust meals according to daily meal counts. For



 Leftovers should be used the next day of service. Do not hold leftovers for
more than 5 days as long as refrigeration is available. If no refrigeration is
available, food must be discarded.
 If there is a explanation for changes in meal counts (such as field trip or rain),
inform the preparation site to ensure you receive the proper amount of meals
each day.

Paras/Site Person Duties
 Ensure meal counts are accurate.
 Change/or Call in meal count concerns when
necessary.

 Keep a folder or binder with copies of all
attendance counts and meal counts on site.
 Clean tables using bleach solution, (1) Tbsp.
per gallon of water (one capful per gallon).

 PDE reviews our program one time during the
summer.
 They look for consistency in meal counts.
 Every students has availability and access to
meals.

 Proper components are taken, do not
disassemble the boxed meal.

Monitoring by ASD
 Attendance verification (documented and maintained on site)
 Meal Count verification (documented and maintained on site)
 Check meal delivery coincides with meal counts, so there is
little waste (over ordering).
 Please try to keep meals counts as close to attendance as
possible.
 Students are required to take all parts of the meal.
 Count is taken at the Point of Service.
Site Reviews
Monitoring by ASD
 Only one meal per student, unless they want to
pay for the 2nd meal.
 Any participant between the ages (1) year old and
(18) years old can participate at no cost.
 2nd meal is ala carte for $ 2.00, collect on day of
consumption.
 Adult meal is $3.50, collect on day of
consumption.
 All monies must be given to the driver on the next
day delivery.
Fridays
 The Allentown School District will
operate on a four day work week
This is a cost saving measure.
All buildings will be closed on Fridays.
What Does This Mean for Me?
 Meals for a Friday, will be sent on a Thursday
including milk.
 The Friday Lunch Meal is prepared for no
refrigeration necessary, however, if you do have
adequate refrigeration, it is certainly fine to utilize
it.
