For This Meeting
• Bring the most experienced professionals from the
private/public sectors to the table.
• Provide the objective and inclusive and politically
neutral environment of a University setting
• Develop a data driven evidence based approach to
disaster response which includes the private sector
as a major partner.
• Provide transparent and quality information to
make a difference in disaster response in the
Americas.

Create policy and legal frameworks for longer term prevention and mitigation.
Strengthen and develop risk management systems at the regional, national and local
levels…incorporate risk
Concepts and risk reduction criteria into development planning.

enhance OFDA’s leadership role.
