Pine Class
Term 4
Investigate colour wash, primary and secondary colours to paint under the sea creatures for an underwater scene.
English
The children will continue the term with
Read, Write Inc looking at blending
sounds together to read and write words
correctly. During our English lessons we
will be practicing our descriptive writing
and writing letters to the king about his
unfair behaviour.
That’s Not Fair!
Science
We will be learning about everyday
materials and how we use them for
particular purposes. We will be observing
their properties closely and sorting them
by what we find.
Computing
We will be using art programs this term to create castle pictures and
independently saving our own work. We will also be using the internet to
research castles and we will be thinking about how we can stay safe when
using it.
Geography / History
In Geography we will briefly look at Fair Trade foods and what these are.
In History we will learn about the Magna Carta, what it is and how it still
helps us in our modern life.
R.E.
In our R.E. we will be exploring the theme Special Times and looking at
how we celebrate Easter.
Maths
During Maths sessions this term we will be
continuing our work in ‘Maths Makes
Sense’. We will be looking at maths stories, what
they mean and their real stories. We will also be
solving problems using +, x, - and
÷.
PSHE
In our PSHE we will be thinking about our friends
and our family, and how important these people
are in our lives.
Physical Development
We will be continuing our focus on gymnastics this
term, looking at the different ways we can link
movements to travel around the floor and simple
apparatus.
Music
We will continue to have our singing sessions with
Caroline, our singing teacher who comes in once a
week. In class we will be thinking about pitch.
Art and Design / Design Technology
This term we will be designing and making a castle.
It will have it’s own working drawbridge!
