maths & stats with appropriate videos. 150 videos

Other non-Innovations projects used
• Numbas (2010-present).
• VETNET LLN project (2008/9).
– AFRD and the Maths School cooperated on a
survey of FE and HE institutions that revealed the
need to improve numeracy in Animal-related
disciplines.
• Maths Support Wiki (2013).
– Aimed at supporting maths, stats and numeracy at
an early stage. Created mainly by undergraduate
students under supervision.
The Animal Science Project
• There are generic numeracy support resources
available to students of all disciplines across the
University.
• How useful is it to non-maths students?
• An interdisciplinary team of Animal Science and
Maths students reflected on the feedback
supplied.
• Then piloted subject-specific examples to
increase engagement with this feedback.
• Evaluated by the next cohort of Stage 1 Animal
Scientists.
Evaluation and Dissemination
• Evaluation by first year students in AFRD
• Talk at the British Society for Animal Science
conference on e-assessment supporting maths
& stats.
