Business Travel under pressure:

• When profits languish, business travel has historically responded severely. Recent surveys substantiate this.

• • According to a December 2008 survey by Orbitz, 55% of business travelers anticipate travelling less in 2009 and 41% are tightening travel policies.

In a December survey by Rearden Commerce, 71% of corporate travel managers reported a decline in the overall number of business trips. Another 88% said business travel approval requirements have skyrocketed in recent months.

The largest base of conference rooms is offered by Krakow’s

higher education establishments.

University of Economics can host 1 500 people, Auditorium Maximum of Jagiellonian University – 1 200 people in a conference hall completed in 2005.

More and more historical buildings are adapted for the needs of conference organisers. They include: Tomaszowice Manor (400 seats in the orangery), Paszkówka Palace (100 seats), Pugetów Palace (160 seats), Villa Decius (110 seats), Center for Jewish Culture (120 seats) or Korzkiew Castle.

The venues enjoying unusual popularity include conference halls in Wieliczka Salt Mine (UNESCO Heritage List) (1000 seats – two halls), in Słowacki Theatre (570 seats), at Royal Castle in Niepołomice (570 seats – several rooms) and at Wawel Royal Castle and Manggha – Centre of Japanese Art and Technology (300 seats).

The Royal Castle in Warsaw offers the possibility to rent its interiors for various events: symposiums, concerts, prestigious meetings and celebrations can be held in the Ball Room, the Concert Hall and the Council Room. For conferences, lectures, trainings etc. we offer our Cinema/Lecture Hall. Receptions and dinners are organized in the King’s Treasury.

For promotion events and performances we recommend the largest surface in the Castle, the Great Court.

The Palace of Culture and Science is the biggest business and fair centre in Warsaw.

In the palace rooms, on over 10 thousand sq. metres, there are many international and domestic fair events organised every year. In 6 typical conference rooms nearly 200 events are held every year.

The Congress Hall is the biggest hall in the capital.

A Gothic Hall on the 30th floor of the PC&S is equipped with projectors overhead, 2 screens of different size, touch-screen computers.

The Warsaw International Expocentre EXPO XXI

is one of Warsaw’s most modern conference and exhibition venues, offering 10,000 m2 of exhibition space.

There are three exhibition halls as well as conference rooms with unlimited access to all utilities.

The centre is the perfect venue for events such as trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, congresses, conventions, balls, banquets, presentations and special events. There is also a bar and a centre providing additional services. The centre has air conditioning and is designed for use by disabled people. The Warsaw International Expocentre EXPO XXI is a member of ICCA and UFI.

FUTURE: Warsaw Trade Fair and Congress Centre MT Polska

It is going to be an all-inclusive building, with modern equipment, adapted for the organisation of conferences, congresses and trade fairs at the highest level. The first stage of the investment is the construction of a trade fair hall with an area of 10,000 m2, with an adjacent 600 meter conference centre as well as 2,000 m2 of external exhibition space.

One of the most important aspects of the Warsaw Trade Fair and Congress Centre MT Polska is its location. The MT infrastructure will be moved from the center of Warsaw and located in the last section of the Trasa Siekierkowska which will ensure convenient access from each part of the city.

“Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa” is the largest multi functional indoor arena located in Gdynia.

It is designed as a universal hall for many sports events. However, this truly flexible space is an excellent setting for multi conferences and cultural venues (concerts, shows, exhibitions, etc.) With the total space that covers 1537m2 and a total capacity of up to 4334 seats, the arena was open to the public this year.
