Isaiah 5:20
New King James Version (NKJV)
Woe to those who call evil good, and
good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and
light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet
for bitter!

Sometimes Its Not So Clear….
Sometimes Its Not Black and White
How Do We Know The Truth?
• Things are not always as they appear!
• Sometimes very dangerous things
look innocent and even appealing to
us.
• Some things look good on the surface
but the underlying intent is evil.
• So, how do we know the truth?
First, Look At Jesus’ Very Nature
John 14
The Way, the Truth, and the Life
1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God,
believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many
mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go
to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again and receive you to
Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And
where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where
You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and
the life. No one comes to the Father except through
Me.
We Are To Be Found “IN” Christ Jesus!
Romans 6:11 (New King James Version)
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be
dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:1 (New King James Version)
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to
those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not
walk according to the flesh, but according to
the Spirit.
We Are To Be Found “IN” Christ Jesus!
1 Corinthians 1:30 (New King James Version)
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who
became for us wisdom from God—and
righteousness and sanctification and
redemption—
Ephesians 2:10 (New King James Version)
10 For we are His workmanship, created in
Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand that we should walk in
them.
John 14:15-18 (New King James Version)
Jesus Promises Another Helper
“If you love Me, keep My
commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and
He will give you another Helper, that He may
abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth,
whom the world cannot receive, because it neither
sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for
He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not
leave you orphans; I will come to you.
15
John 14:25-31
(New King James Version)
The Gift of His Peace
“These things I have spoken to you while being
present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He
will teach you all things, and bring to your
remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace
I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the
world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be
troubled, neither let it be afraid.
25
The Gift of His Peace
You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away
and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you
would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the
Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.
29 “And now I have told you before it comes, that
when it does come to pass, you may believe. 30 I
will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of
this world is coming, and he has nothing in
Me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the
Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment,
so I do. Arise, let us go from here.

How Do We Know The Truth?
• John 16:13 (New King James Version)
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has
come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will
not speak on His own authority, but whatever He
hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to
come.
Truth=Peace=Joy=Strength!
Nehemiah 8:10 (New King James Version)
10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat,
drink the sweet, and send portions to those for
whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to
our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD
is your strength.”
ONLY With God’s Strength DO We
Overcome!
Zechariah 4:6 (New King James Version)
6 So he answered and said to me:
“ This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:
‘ Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the LORD of hosts.
1 John 4:4 (New King James Version)
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome
them, because He who is in you is greater than he who
is in the world.
1 John 5:4 (New King James Version)
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world—
our[a] faith.
Jesus Overcame the World Through
The Cross!
