TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY
OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE
John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees named
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus
by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a
teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs
that You do unless God is with him." 3 Jesus answered
and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one
is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4
Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he
is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb
and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say
to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he
cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 "That which is born
of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is
spirit. 7 "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be
born again.'
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and
let every one of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you
shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
1 Peter 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in
obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere
love of the brethren, love one another fervently
with a pure heart, 23 having been born again,
not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through
the word of God which lives and abides forever,
James 1:21Therefore lay aside all filthiness and
overflow of wickedness, and receive with
meekness the implanted word, which is able to
save your souls.
Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that as many of
us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were
baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were
buried with Him through baptism into death, that
just as Christ was raised from the dead by the
glory of the Father, even so we also should walk
in newness of life. 5For if we have been united
together in the likeness of His death, certainly we
also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with
Him, that the body of sin might be done away
with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we
shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ,
having been raised from the dead, dies no more.
Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For
the death that He died, He died to sin once for all;
but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead
indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised with
Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set
your mind on things above, not on things on the
earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with
Christ in God.
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also
loved the church and gave Himself for her, that
He might sanctify and cleanse her with the
washing of water by the word” (Ephesians 5:2526)
“…He saved us, through the washing of
regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit”
(Titus 3:5).
“Washing” is defined as “Washing, cleansing;
water (USB).”
“Regeneration” is defined as a new birth or
renewal or restoration of life after death
(Strong’s).”
“For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one
body” (1 Cor. 12:13).
“One body” is the same as saying the
kingdom/church because the body is the church:
Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body,
the church,
The church is the same as the kingdom:
Matthew 16:18 … I will build My church … 19
"And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of
heaven

We are taught by the Holy Spirit through the
Word of God that we must:
• Believe Jesus is the Son of God (Jn. 8:24)
• Repent (Lk. 13:3)
• Confess Jesus as Lord (Rom. 10:9-10)
•Be baptized for the forgiveness of sins (Acts
2:38; 1 Pet. 3:21; Acts 22:16).
When we obey the Holy Spirit’s instructions, we
are added to the kingdom/church/body by God
(Acts 2:47) that Jesus will save (Eph. 5:23).
Acts 22:3 "I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of
Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of
Gamaliel, taught according to the strictness of
our fathers' law, and was zealous toward God as
you all are today.
Philippians 3:4 If anyone else thinks he may have
confidence in the flesh, I more so: 5 circumcised
the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe
of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews;
concerning the law, a Pharisee; 6 … concerning
the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Acts 26:9 "Indeed, I myself thought I must do
many things contrary to the name of Jesus of
Nazareth. 10 "This I also did in Jerusalem, and
many of the saints I shut up in prison, having
received authority from the chief priests; and
when they were put to death, I cast my vote
against them. 11 "And I punished them often in
every synagogue and compelled them to
blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged
against them, I persecuted them even to foreign
cities.
Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on
God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 Then
he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do
not charge them with this sin." And when he had said this,
he fell asleep. Acts 8:1 Now Saul was consenting to his
death. At that time a great persecution arose against the
church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all
scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria,
except the apostles. 2 And devout men carried Stephen to
his burial, and made great lamentation over him. 3 As for
Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house,
and dragging off men and women, committing them to
prison.
Acts 9:1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and
murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to
the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to
the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found
any who were of the Way, whether men or
women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
Acts 9:3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and
suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then
he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him,
"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" 5 And he said,
"Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus,
whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick
against the goads." 6 So he, trembling and astonished,
said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord
said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be
told what you must do." 7 And the men who journeyed
with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no
one. 8 Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his
eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the
hand and brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three
days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
Acts 22:12 "Then a certain Ananias, a devout man
according to the law, having a good testimony
with all the Jews who dwelt there, 13 "came to
me; and he stood and said to me, 'Brother Saul,
receive your sight.' And at that same hour I
looked up at him. 14 "Then he said, 'The God of
our fathers has chosen you that you should know
His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice
of His mouth. 15 'For you will be His witness to
all men of what you have seen and heard. 16
'And now why are you waiting? Arise and be
baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the
name of the Lord.'
Acts 9:19 So when he had received food, he was
strengthened. Then Saul spent some days with
the disciples at Damascus. 20 Immediately he
preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is
the Son of God. 21 Then all who heard were
amazed, and said, "Is this not he who destroyed
those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and
has come here for that purpose, so that he might
bring them bound to the chief priests?" 22 But
Saul increased all the more in strength, and
confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus,
proving that this Jesus is the Christ.
