PARABLE OF THE SOILS
Do you remember?




What is so important
about coming to Church?
Why is it necessary for us
to read the Holy Bible
and listen to sermons?
Do we usually remember
what we read? Or what
the lesson is about?
What was the Holy Bible
about today?
Listen carefully!!
Today we are going to talk about how
Lord Jesus describes the people of His
flock who listen to His words and apply it
in their everyday lives.
 And, we’ll learn about how Lord Jesus
describes those who come every day, but
do NOT listen to His words.

How it all began…


Lord Jesus was
surrounded by a great
multitude one day, so He
got in a boat and started
speaking to them about a
parable of a sower
(farmer) who went out to
throw seeds in the
ground to try to grow
good crop.
What is a parable?
First batch




The first batch fell by the
wayside and were eaten
up by the birds.
What are the seeds?
The word of God
So, what happened to the
seeds in this first
situation?
Similar to when the devil
comes and takes away
the Word of God from us.
Second batch



The second batch of seeds fell
on stones so they sprung for a
while but were destroyed and
burned when the sun hit them
because they did not have
deep roots.
What does this batch
represent?
Some people get very happy
when they hear the Word of
God. But as soon as trouble
comes (the sun) they get
burned up and forget all about
it.
Third batch



The third batch of seeds
fell in the midst of thorns
and were choked by the
surrounding thorns.
What does this
symbolize?
This is the group of
people that hear the
Word of God but are too
busy with TV, games,
work, school, etc to do
anything for God or His
word.
Fourth batch
This group of seeds
fell in good soil and a
great crop grew!!
 What does this
represent?
 This type of people
are the ones who
take the Word of God,
listen to it, and obey
it in their everyday
lives.

Which group do you want to be like?



So, of all those 4 groups,
who do you want to be
like?
Lord Jesus wants us to be
like the last batch, to
listen to His word, to read
it every day, and to use it
in our lives.
So when I hear a lesson
about listening to my
parents…what would the
good soil people do?
Memory Verse
“but others fell on good ground and yielded
a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty
some thirty.”
(Matthew 13:8)
