Student Orientation
Note: It is important to read the notes along with the slides.
System Requirements
▪ Java Web Start – required to run ClassLive Pro, powered by
Blackboard Collaborate. Check to see if you have the correct version
of Java: Check System Requirements
▪ Java Access Bridge – enables assistive technologies. For instructions
on downloading and enabling Java Access Bridge, read the
Knowledge Base article: System Requirements for Blackboard

Join a Session
▪ Once in your course , click the Live tab
▪ From the options, select ClassLive
▪ Then, Join Session
Set Connection Speed
The first time you join a session, the Select Connection Speed dialog
box appears. It prompts you to select a connection speed that you will
be using. Your options are:
Configure Your Audio
At the start of each session
▪ Tools
Audio
Audio Setup Wizard
or
▪ From the Audio & Video panel, click
▪ Once Audio Setup Wizard is open, follow the
instructions that ensue

▪ If it is collapsed, click the Expand button to open it

▪ Click the “Feedback” button.
▪ From the displayed options,
click your response.

▪ Click the “Stepped Away” button.
▪ Your response displays by your
name, in the Participants List
Participants Panel: Raise Hand
▪ Click the “Raise Hand” button.
▪ Your response displays by your
name, in the Participants List
Participants Panel: Polling Response
▪ Click the “Respond to Poll”
button.
▪ From the displayed options,
click your response.
▪ Your response displays by your
name, in the Participants List
Participants Panel: Breakout Rooms
▪ Move into breakout rooms
– Instructor moves student (default)
– Students allowed to move themselves:
Drag & Drop yourself into a breakout room
or
Use the Room Menu (now activated), to
select the room to move into.

Session Archives
Application Sharing – Start
▪ The application to be shared must be opened & maximized on your desktop
▪ On the Collaboration Toolbar, click the Application Sharing button:
▪ From the window that displays, select the application to share.
▪ The Application Sharing activity indicator displays by your name.
Application Sharing – Stop
▪ Stop Application Sharing:

Click Whiteboard Button, to return to
the Whiteboard
