Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Children develop quickly in the early years and our aim is to help children have the best possible start in life. All children should have the opportunity to develop their personalities, talents and abilities.

Seven Areas of Learning

• All areas are important and inter-connected.

• Areas are crucial in igniting curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning.

• Prime areas are strengthened through the specific areas and should be embedded throughout.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development • Maintain concentration, listen and be excited to learn.

Physical Development • Moving and handling.

Early Years Foundation Stage Profile • Forms a reception child’s assessment and end of year report • Assesses children against Early Learning Goals and Characteristics of Effective Learning. • Most children will achieve the Early Learning Goals by the end of their Reception year and be ready to move on to the National Curriculum in Year 1.
