Addiction Services Division (AdS) of MHMR
of Tarrant County is the largest State-funded
provider of chemical dependency treatment
in Tarrant County.
Our mission is to offer a continuum of Addiction
Treatment that is trauma sensitive and life
enhancing.

About Us
For over 35 years, MHMR of Tarrant County Addiction Services provides
medically supervised detoxification and ambulatory detoxification for
adults; short-term residential treatment and intensive and supportive
outpatient counseling for both adults and adolescents; and HIV case
management and outreach services. We offer a holistic approach using
evidence based treatment models that have gone through rigorous
research. This division also offers specialized services for women with
children, HIV positive clients, and people with Co-occurring Psychiatric
Substance Disorders—COPSD (both mental illness and substance abuse).

AdS offers treatment to 5 thousand Tarrant
County Citizens each year.
We offer HIV Prevention Services to another
11 thousand citizens annually.
Our efforts to end Homelessness have reached
over 120 people in less than 1 year.

After Clients have been housed, the Project LifeLine staff show
continued efforts in support of:
• Starting Recovery/Life Skills
Groups in Apartment
complexes

residents for treatment
• Providing transportation and
transporting Clients
• Teaching Clients cooking skills
• Harm Reduction and Trauma

• Parenting and Family

• They have undiagnosed Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
and have “self-medicated” with
drugs and alcohol for years
• 76% Homeless Veterans have
alcohol, drug and /or mental
health problems
• 89% were “honorably
discharged”
• Today’s Combat, for every
Military death, 7.3 wounded
soldiers survive.

MHMR offers:
• Vet–to–Vet Program – specially trained
veterans assisting one another with their PTSD
symptoms and overall life-skills.
• Cognitive Processing Therapy – solution
focused, time limited therapy in which clients
learn skills to reframe beliefs about life before
and after trauma.
• Texas Veterans Legal Services – Pro Bono
Attorneys to assist with past tickets/warrants.
