Students must complete 40 credits of
General Education coursework.
Transfer students with completed MTCs or
Goal Areas are excused from the SCSU
equivalent.
Courses and “experiences” go through the
regular curriculum approval process.
Courses must be included in the General
Education Assessment Plan.
Some goals may be satisfied by experiences
rather than an individual course.




Only courses at the 100 level and above,
including transferred courses.
A course or other experience may satisfy up
to 2 goal areas.
A course must satisfy all or 80 % of the
SLOs for a Goal area.
Students complete three approved diversity
courses or experiences.

No limit on the # of courses a department
