Teacher recommendation days are Friday, January
31st and Monday, Februay 3rd. You will receive a
transcript and course selection sheet in first period on
Friday to assist you with this process.
Course Catalogs may be viewed online at
www.pwcs.edu . There will be a few hard copies
available in the Counseling Office. If you have
difficulty accessing the catalog, please see your
counselor.

• On Saturday, February 1st, you and your parents
will have access to the Course Request Module
in Parent Portal. Please refer to the school
website for Student Instructions for Entering
Course Requests and viewing teacher
recommendations. You will have access to this
feature from February 1st to February 5th.

• Beginning on February 10th, counselors will
begin meeting individually with students to
discuss and finalize course selections. Please
make sure that you and your parents have
selected your courses in Parent Portal prior to
the visit with your counselor.
• Consultations will occur through English
classrooms. Please consult with your English
teacher for your scheduled date.

Credit Requirements
• Remember! Being promoted to the next grade
is based on the number of credits you earn.
• To be a sophomore, you need at least 6 credits!
That means passing 6 out of 7 of the classes you
take as a freshman.
• To be a junior, you need at least 11 credits.
• To be a senior, you should have at least 16
credits.
General Information
• Do not sign up for two core classes in the same area.
• Cambridge Program deadline is Saturday, February 1st.
You only have to take one class to be in the program.
• Forms required for AP/AICE courses
• Check with your Counselor regarding applications and
deadlines for Nursing, Cosmetology, Culinary, Welding
and other Career and Technical Education courses.
• As always, make an appointment with your Counselor if
you have any questions or need assistance.
