 Block Schedule
 8 classes per semester
 4 classes per day
 Classes are 92 minutes each
 3 lunches that take place during 3rd period—assigned by teacher
 A and B day schedule

 English= 8 credits
 Health= 1 credit
 Math= 6 credits
 Speech= 1 credit
 Science=6 credits (lab)
 PE= 1 credit
 World History= 2 credits  Technology= 3
 US History= 2 credits
 Government= 2 credits
 Economics= 1 credit

 Humanities= 2
credits
 Electives= 16
credits
You must complete ALL Core and
Elective courses
Have 51 credits
Pass a college entrance
examination—
ACT, SAT, or Compass
Pass your senior project
Pass approved assessment
Must have Algebra and Geometry
proficiency
WHAT IS A HUMANITIES CREDIT?
 You need 2 humanities credits to graduate:
 Foreign language
 Theater/Drama
 Choir
 Band/ Orchestra
 Art
 *You don’t have to take a foreign language to graduate but some colleges
might require 2 years of the same foreign language

with teachers
2. Be involved- join a club, team or activity
3. Make the habit of working on school work and studying at home or attending after
school tutoring
4. Pick good friends- you are who you hang out with! A good friend helps support you.
5. Follow the school policies- avoid getting in trouble by following the rules.
