What is a Protopage?
• A Protopage is your own personal page, which you can access from any
computer or mobile phone.
• Use it to read your own selection of news and blogs, keep bookmarks,
to-do lists, sticky notes, and much more .
• There are thousands of different widgets that you can add to your page.
• You can add sticky notes on your page. To edit the text, simply click
inside the widget and start typing.
• You can also add to-do lists, calendars, photos, and much more.
What Can You do on Protopage?
• You can organize your widgets under different tabs.
• You can choose your own selection of news from thousands of
sources.
• If you see an orange 'RSS' icon in your web browser when you visit a
web site, it means you can subscribe to it with Protopage.
• Access your page from most phones, including the iPhone,
Blackberry, Nokia, Samsung, Siemens, Palm, LG, Motorola, Sony
Ericsson and Windows Mobile.
• Click the 'Colors/Settings' button to customize your page with your
own choice of colors and wallpaper.
• Hover over the search area in the top right of your page to quickly
search hundreds of popular search engines.
Why Would You Use Protopage?
• To organize monthly meetings
• To organize a class by month, week, day, or session
• To use as a prototype while you create your web
page
• To collaborate with colleagues
• To choreograph classroom instruction with digital
media
• To organize online links of personal interest

Getting Started

Browse the Opening Page
Name Your Tab; Click within The
Word “Untitled” and Delete & Add
as Necessary
Start Slow; Create a New Tab
Click
Here
Select “Add Widget”
Select Bookmarks; Click on Blue
Bar to Put inside Page
Select Edit; Insert URL & Title
Embed Video Clips or Other “Coded” Sites;
Select HTML/Rich Text
After Edit; Select HTML FIRST!
Go Find Some Code to Embed!
Copy/Paste the Entire HTML Code
into the Widget Window
Now You Can Play Your Clip!
Once You Master Protopage,
the Sky is the Limit!
