working relationship

goals that have been set
Communication
Strengths
– Monthly Association
Meetings
– State Program Policy
& Guidance
Challenges
– Maintaining
communication when
work gets busy
Statewide Data System
Strengths
– WV mandates and uses a
statewide data system
– Universal intake for all
agencies
– All CA programs are
reported, not just CSBG
– Consistent reporting
– Ability to unduplicate results
and clients statewide
– Assists in monitoring
– No cost to CAAs
Challenges
– Implementing reporting
changes such as new NPIs
for IS Report
– Teaching the importance
of data quality
Statewide Community Assessment
Strengths
– State office and Association
developed a core survey for
agencies to use
Challenges
– More guidance needs to be
developed
– Survey needs updated
– Helping agencies that don’t see the
importance of the assessments
and helping them improve their
methods
Organizational Standards
Strengths
– 13/16 CAAs completed
the Pathways to
Excellence evaluation of
the Standards of
Excellence.
– Most organizational
standards have been
expectations of the state
office for several years.
Challenges
– To us, the challenge will be
determining the consequences
for not meeting a standard
rather than how to evaluate.
