   Distance is the amount of space between two objects. The most common unit of distance is the meter △d = d 2 –d 1 The change in distance is equal to the difference between the beginning distance (usually zero) and the finished distance.

   Time – the duration between two events and usually is measure in seconds, minutes or hours △t = t 2 -t 1 The change in time is equal to the difference between the beginning time ( usually zero) and the finishing time

       Speed- is a rate of motion V= speed V= △d/△t Speed is the ratio between the change in distance and the change in time V = (d 2 -d 1 )/(t 2 -t 1 ) Vav = △d/ △t Average speed takes into consideration acceleration, constant speed and deceleration

  ◦ Distance and time are two terms that are linked when we look at how fast we travel We might walk at 6km/hr, drive at 100km/hr or ride a mountain bike downhill at 45km/hr Ex Ian runs at 100m/10s or 10m/s
