Types of SSRL Pre-blended Expander:

This is an organic expander for lead acid battery negative electrode &
provides improved high temperature performance. It significantly
improves life & performance of electrode under high temperature
conditions for both shallow and deep cycles.

HOW SSRL EXPANDER WORKS
Expander functions in the negative electrode of lead-acid batteries to
promote the development of fine crystal sponge lead upon formation
and then to preserve this high surface area structure by preventing
coarsening of crystals upon cycling. It also serves to protect the
negative active material from becoming less reactive during discharge
or on open circuit by preventing the formation of an impervious
non-conducting film of lead sulfate.

Batteries are prepared with optimized ratios of positive active material,
negative active material and electrolyte. To meet standards of reserve
capacity, cold crank ability, and especially battery life, manufacturers
need to get maximum efficiency out of the negative active material, oth
erwise the under-utilized mass is simply unproductive weight and
expense.
It is a highly modified expander designed to significantly increase the
life of the negative electrode under high temperature conditions for
both shallow and deep cycles. This enables more efficient formation
and better "under the hood" performance .It is well established that the
cost addition as an organic expander returns in performance its cost
many times over.

The Vanisperse HT-1, is strongly adsorbed on the surface of the active
material & induces a fine, porous crystal structure. The Vanisperse HT1 increases the surface area from 0.2- 0.8 M2g-1 & leads into reducing
the effective current density during discharge & significantly increases
the utilization of Active material. The role of Carbon Black is to
increase the conductivity of the negative active material in-formation
process. Barium sulfate acts to provide sites for nucleation of lead
sulfate during battery discharge due to similar crystal structure.

Tested and proved for following tests:
High Temperature
In the high temp( i.e. up to 85oc) life test, the average of batteries
prepared with our expanders Shows 30% more life cycle than the
other battery.
Heavy Duty :
Our expanders effective in prolonging the life of negative electrode
under heavy duty deep discharging conditions its performance was
tested and proved that for battery containing our expanders gives
very strong beneficial close effect.

Reserve Capacity, Cold Crank Performance & Life Test:
The initial reserve capacity & cold crank performance test indicate st
rong effect. The study of analysis indicate that negative electrode wa
s in fact the limiting electrode & that loss of capacity in negative elect
rode was the dominant cause of failure of battery. Our expanders len
gthen the life of the negative electrode & it increases cold capacity of
the battery up to long last cycle consistency.

It produce porosity, the pore in negative plates open to further
penetration of the acid helping in discharge process. During
discharging lead sulfate is formed and dissolves into electrolyte it
precipitates back on the negative plates on those areas only where
our formula inhibits deposition of precipitation on itself therefore it
helps in keeping lead surfaces exposed to further attack by
electrolyte to give a long continued discharge.
It helps to keep plates lesser sulfation and more solubility of lead
sulfate in electrolyte. It minimizes back up down fall in a stationery,
Tubular, Traction, Industrial batteries, which have to be fully
discharged per cycle.
