Was ist DSS?
Das DSS Format wurde hauptsächlich für digitales Diktieren/Transkibieren entwickelt.
Es hat folgende Vorteile:
1.
Lange Aufnahmen mit kleinen Dateien, da DSS die Daten hoch komprimiert.
2.
Kann zusätzliche Informationen zugeordnet zu Diktaten im Datei Header beinhalten.
3.
Für einfaches Überschreiben und punktgenaues Editieren werden die Daten in kleinen Blöcken geschrieben (z.B.
Teillöschen, Einfügen).
4.
Gemeinschaftsentwicklung von PHILIPS, OLYMPUS, und GRUNDIG stellt die Datenkompatibilität auf lange Zeit
sicher.

What is the Problem?
“I need to link a patient ID# - for example a social#
to my voice reports, to clearly capture which
report belongs to which patient.” – Doctor, NY
The solution:
Philips DPM 9450 with Voice command is a simple
way to assign patient ID#s to the voice report by
simply speaking them out.
How does it work?
The speaker dependent voice recognition will
identify the digits spoken and automatically
assign them to the Keyword defined. As in DPM
9400i the Keyword input can be set as a
mandatory one.

The solution: Philips DPM 9450 with Voice
command offers a convenient & fast way of
assigning up to 20 different work types to any
voice report. It is fast and reliable.
How does it work? Philips DPM Voice Command
identifies the authors speech and thus
automatically assigns the correct work type simply by speaking it out.
For verification the display will show the
recognised work type with in big letters.
The conditions are: Short training is required up to 20 different work types can be trained &
used;Two Keywords can be assigned as Voice

Slow charging through USB cable
What is the Problem?
“I do not want to carry an extra power supply for recharging my device when
travelling!” – Lawyer, Toronto
The solution:
Philips DPM 9450 not only runs on the USB power supplied but also charges up
the batteries LFH9144 when connected to a PC or Notebook.*
How does it work?
A charging current of ~30mA is being delivered from the USB socket through a
standard mini USB cable and fed to the DPM 9450 to recharge the LFH9144
batteries.
This works in any case, if the DPM is switched on or off.* It will take
approximately 20hrs to recharge empty batteries. *Note: USB charging is disabled when
power supply LFH 9145 is connected directly or through the docking station.

Record notification beep
What is the Problem?
“When dictating I´m not looking at the device or
display. It was so handy to hear the record ready
beep confirmation with the old machine - I always
knew when to start with my dictation - today´s
mobile dictation products don´t offer this function

The solution:
On the Philips DPMs this audible confirmation can be
activated. A beep tone is generated every time the
user moves the 4-position switch to record.
How does it work?
This feature can be enabled/disabled via the V2.1
download & configuration software.
If this feature is enabled, the DPM will produce
two short distinctive beeps (~80ms) every time
the DPM enters record mode.
