To develop agreed core standards to facilitate collaborative IT procurement initiatives. 2. To disseminate information relating to technology advances relevant to service delivery. 3. To identify and commission technology research and development which supports and furthers the growth and improvement of member organisations’ service delivery. 4. To contribute to the overall sustainability of BCA and its members. TCoE: Technology as an enabler Heading • Business imperatives within aged care mean: – IT needs to find ways to deliver more value to the business TCoE: Cost reduction & collaboration Heading strategies • Reduce Variable Costs: • Review existing spending to eliminate waste • Review existing requirements to develop standards • Joint purchasing initiatives • Move to align enterprise architectures particularly at the application and infrastructure layers • Reduce Fixed Costs • Share infrastructure e.g. Data Centres, DR capability • A tool that allowed the States to naturally collaborate, share learnings and leverage benefits leading to: – An ability to leverage technology to reduce costs and deliver better outcomes in critical areas such as: • Mobility solutions • Cloud services • Procurement • Essential systems (Eg. Nurse call) – A way to benefit from individual experiences. – A way to avoid repeating mistakes that could result in higher costs. • The ability to prioritise areas that represented risk to the business, such as licensing TCoE: Innovation strategies Heading • • • • Align IT strategies: Review existing requirements and processes and look for opportunities to develop best practice. Identify common requirements and look for opportunities to duplicate successes. Use savings from cost reduction strategies to fund innovation and deliver additional value; align enterprise architectures, applications and projects over time where it makes sense.
