Provisions
Allows students with intellectual disabilities to be
eligible for work-study jobs, Pell grants (loans) and
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants for
the first time.
Authorizes inclusive and comprehensive transition
and post-secondary programs.

Expanding to area school districts
Focus: Transition from school to adult life
(‘Dual enrolled’ students ages 18-22)

Academic enrichment (Audit university courses)
Employment (on or off campus)
Independent living
Social/communication
Public transportation; community access
SITE Program
“Audit” select regular classes (e.g., Phys. Ed.,
computer, education).
School of Ed student ‘peer partners’ (service
learning requirement of coursework)
Use of campus facilities (library, Campus Center,
computers, etc.)
Students have IU email accounts
The campus provides an age appropriate
setting for students to develop their skills.
College students provide great role models.
