What Does It Mean To Be Lost
Have you ever been lost ?
Being spiritually lost is
much more dangerous ?
Many don’t know don’t know
they are spiritually lost.
There are religious people, people who
worship God that are lost.
Matthew 15: 9
And in vain they worship Me, teaching as
doctrines the commandments of men.’
There are many people who are zealous for God,
even preachers who are lost and don’t know it.
Matthew 7: 21-23
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord,
Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father who
is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to
Me on
Matthew 7: 21-23

that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy
in Your name, and in Your name cast out
demons, and in Your name perform many
miracles? 23 And then I will declare to them,
‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you
who practice lawlessness.’
Sadly, many people just
will not deal with their
relationship with God.
Hebrews 9:27
It is appointed for men to die once and
after this comes judgment
,
II Corinthians 5: 10
For we must all appear before the
judgment seat of Christ, so that each one
may be recompensed for his deeds in the
body, according to what he has done,
whether good or bad.
“Lost” is not a derogatory term;
it is a descriptive term.
“Lost” is a term with serious
and eternal ramifications.
Have you ever been lost ?
It’s as if they are spiritual zombies.
Ephesians 2: 1
And you were dead in your trespasses
and sins
Romans 6: 23
For the wages of sin is death, but the
free gift of God is eternal life...

The Lord God commanded the man,
saying, “From any tree of the garden
you may eat freely; 17 but from the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil you
shall not eat, for in the day that you eat
from it you will surely die.”

Jesus came to earth to restore life to fallen man.
John 10: 10–11
The thief ( Satan ) comes only to steal and
kill and destroy; I came that they may
have life, and have it abundantly. 11 I am
the good shepherd; the good shepherd
lays down His life for the sheep.
Jesus provides a source of regenerative life for
those who are spiritually dead.
John 14: 6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the
truth, and the life; no one comes to the
Father but through Me.

II Corinthians 4: 3-4
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is
veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in
whose case the god of this world has
blinded the minds of the unbelieving so
that they might not see the light of the
gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the
image of God.
One’s heart is affected by the life-choices he
makes.
Matthew13: 13
Therefore I speak to them in parables;
because while seeing they do not see,
and while hearing they do not hear, nor
do they understand.

Matthew 13: 14
In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is
being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will
keep on hearing, but will not
understand; You will keep on seeing,
but will not perceive;
Many approach the scriptures as an academic
study and in so doing miss the message.

- preachers ( learn in college )
- serious students
I Corinthians 2: 14
But a natural man does not accept the
things of the Spirit of God, for they are
foolishness to him; and he cannot
understand them, because they are
spiritually appraised.
The key to leading people to
Christ is to start where they
are and build from there.
Jesus to His disciples :
John 16: 12
I have many more things to say to you, but
you cannot bear them now.
Have you ever been lost ?
Jude describes those who deny Christ and sinful
Christians as hopelessly lost.
Jude 13b
. . . for whom the black darkness has been
reserved forever.
The gates of Hell
only swing one way.
Jesus is proof that God
does not want people to
be lost.
Ezekiel 33: 11
Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the
Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure in the
death of the wicked, but rather that the
wicked turn from his way and live. Turn
back, turn back from your evil ways!
God so loves mankind that He gave His Only
Begotten Son to save us from our sins.
I John 4: 9
By this the love of God was manifested
in us, that God has sent His only
begotten Son into the world so that we
might live through Him.
Have you ever been lost ?
We all have two appointments that we cannot
avoid and we’ll be on time for both.
Hebrews 9: 27
... it is appointed for men to die once
and after this comes judgment,

And I saw the dead, the great and the
small, standing before the throne, and
books were opened; and another book
was opened, which is the book of life;
and the dead were judged from the
things which were written in the books,

anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 2 and
He Himself is the propitiation for our sins;
and not for ours only, but also for those of
the whole world.
YOU ARE GUILTY !
You need His advocacy
Every person who appears before God will be
guilty
The lost have no advocate
Have you ever been lost ?
Ephesians 2: 12
Remember that you were at that time
separate from Christ, excluded from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers
to the covenants of promise, having no
hope and without God in the world.
To die outside of Christ is to be separated from
God forever
II Thessalonians 1: 9
These will pay the penalty of eternal
destruction, away from the presence of the
Lord and from the glory of His power,
God is the source of all good; imagine total
separation from Him .. eternally.
James 1: 17
Every good thing given and every perfect
gift is from above, coming down from the
Father of lights, ....
Are you lost ?
If so, your eternity is bleak ?
1. Existing without spiritual life
2. Seeing but having no site
3. Learning without discernment
4. You will die without hope
5. Will stand before God alone
6. Separated from God eternally
Jesus came to earth and
died to give you a choice.
Which will you choose ?
Both are real
One will be yours
Choose
Heaven
