Eaton HE Mode versus ECO Modes
Eaton's HE Mode offers higher efficiency as well as:
• Surge Protection – Inherent filtering with transformer-free
technology
• Fast Transition Time for risk free operation - Performs rapid
detection and correction of power disturbances well below
4ms, maximum 10ms (ECO modes typically 8ms to 15ms on
competitive products)
• Fault Detection provides extra security – Detects difference
between load fault and upstream source fault
• Downstream fault cleared with increased short circuit
capability remaining in high efficiency mode
• Upstream fault cleared by immediately disconnecting
from the utility fault
HE Mode provides risk-free high efficiency!

10
Eaton HE Mode Advantages
• Lower duty cycle for rectifier and inverter:
Improves reliability and MTBF
• Fans are typically off: Reliability of one of the few
moving parts in the UPS is enhanced. Contrast with
flywheel-based high efficiency systems , or line
interactive systems
• Audible noise is reduced: Fans and PWM are off
• Load inrush handling is enhanced: Due to lower
impedance of utility source vs. inverter. This is good for
motor loads and medical imaging applications

Easy Capacity Load Testing
Easy Capacity Test uses the UPSs
Rectifiers and Inverters as an internal
load bank. A field engineer can easily
perform tests with a service laptop
No load banks to rent!
No load connections needed!
No wasted energy!
Load test capability saves customers time and money!
