Americans Rule

• USDA continues to emphasize and implement guidelines
• Memo dated December 17, 2007; SP-04-2008
• SAs should encourage SFAs to begin proactively
implementing the applicable DGA recommendations
within meal pattern requirements.

CRE Training
• CRE Task Group updated CRE Forms and
Instructions and is preparing training for SAs.
• Four CRE training sessions planned:

Annapolis, MD in mid- June 16 – 20, 2008
• Over 500 State reviewers and others will attend.
• Training will lead to updating CRE Guidance.
Procurement Training
• Will take place in two segments starting in
spring 2008
– Web-based modules
– “Interactive training”
• Target audience is SA staff working with
procurements for NSLP and SBP
• Content: general procurement planning
and administration, and requirements of
the new procurement rule.
