Three Guests
I had a little tea party,
This afternoon at three;
’Twas very small,
Three guests in all,
Just I, myself, and me.
Three Guests
Myself ate up the sandwiches,
While I drank up the tea,
’Twas also I
Who ate the pie
And passed the cake to me.

Why I Like This Poem
• Cindy: I like this poem because of the little
surprise. At the beginning, the title misleads
me to think that there are actually three
guests in the tea party. In fact, the “three
guests” are all the little girl herself.
• Jill :This poem let me recall my childhood,
when no one can accompany me, I would
image there were someone playing with me.
