AIDIMA is not a vocational training centre, but a RDTI association.
Therefore, it is impossible for us to introduce the proposed pilot scheme of
courses for students aged 16-18 years old.
Nevertheless, AIDIMA has a good relationship with vocational training
centres providing wood and furniture vocational training, but it is almost
impossible for them to change their official plans from the point of view of
content delivery. This possibility of being flexible with the syllabus does not
exist.
AIDIMA has collaborated with the Ministry of Labour and with the Ministry of
Education in these activities related to the educational innovation.
AIDIMA has participate in the development of:
• Vocational training professional degrees,
• Specific wood and furniture qualifications,
• Spanish National System of Qualifications, and
• Professional Certificates (courses to obtain the qualification certification).

In Spain, we can find two different levels of degrees:
•
Three different intermediate degrees for students aged +16 years
old, but none of them have specific training related to NC.
•
Two different higher degrees for students aged +18 years old, which
are:
•
“Development of products in carpentry and furniture”
•
“Wood and furniture production”:
•
It includes the NC training module.
•
Its final objective is “programming and managing a
numerical automated manufacture”.
•
It lasts 165 hours.
•
You can find its module card in the following slide (slide 11).

In addition to this, on the 8th October 2010, the Ministry of Education
published a vocational training professional degree in order to replace
this one : “Industrial manufacture of carpentry and furniture”
At this very moment, the new degree is called:
“Joinery and furniture technician”:
• It is for students aged +16 years old.
• It lasts 2.000 hours.
• It includes the NC training module of 60 hours.
• It has been created in order to meet the furniture sectorial demand,
and coinciding with the Woodport project results as it happens.
• You can find its module card in the following slide (slide 20).

AIDIMA´S PROPOSAL TO
SUSTAINABILITY MODULE
21/10/2010 - Final meeting
TRAINING MODULS
21
From our point of view, the following proposal is suitable only for students of
higher degrees, in connection with their responsibility towards the company.
The idea is not teaching students a specific sustainability module, because
every school should have implemented a sustainability system.
In consequence of this implementation, students are aware of the
importance of sustainability and in their lessons at workshops, they will be
taught and advised in these areas:
- Solid and liquid waste control
- Respect for the environment
- Occupational hazard prevention
- Health and safety
as additional tasks in their jobs (joiners, cabinet markers, upholsterers…)
