- We built houses for the community in order to help
those that are less fortunate. I personally worked on
the roof most of the time, putting up shingles.
• A few football players and I went to encourage
the participants in the races. There were
people ranging from ages 4-70. The races
were meant to raise money for the Valdosta
Junior Service League to help with the youth
programs.
• I went to Westside Elementary School dressed
up in my VSU football jersey. I played with all
the children and signed autographs on their
field day. They were excited that the Valdosta
State Blazers were at their school.
• This was a community wide event for
Valdosta, where tons of kids came to meet our
football team. The children came out on the
field and we had drills set up for each position
and they rotated to each one.
• For me, I got a lot out of giving back to the
community. It was a great feeling of
gratification to see not only the children’s
faces, but also the parent’s faces when they
saw the Blazers coming to support them. Im
glad I have the opportunity to change peoples
lives, whether it is building houses or playing
with children. I enjoyed all the time I have put
in for the community.
