Expectations for iPad Use in our Classroom
iPads are Fragile and Expensive!
We need rules on how to safely handle them
We need clear expectations on how we are supposed to
use them during class
We need to know how to maintain them so that they
are always ready to use
We need to know where they are kept and how to keep
them secure
We need to know what unacceptable use is and what
the consequences are
iPad Safety Rules
Always carry them to your seat using two hands
Never take them out of their protective cases
Hold the iPad by the base, not the cover
Always sit when using the iPad
The iPad should be flat on a desk during use
Never have food or drinks near the iPad
Only clean an iPad with a clean, lint-free cloth
Always gently handle the iPad
During Class
Take turns and share
Never grab an iPad out of someone else’s hands
Remain on task while waiting your turn (for example,
brainstorm ideas in your journal)
Know what you are supposed to be doing if you are
done with the assignment early (hint: it’s probably not
playing games on the iPad!)
When the teacher says “Screens Down” immediately
stop, look and listen
