 How to install.....

ƒ Delete the old system ƒ Making bootdisks ƒ Installing the win2000 software on the HDD ƒ Configure the system

Deleting the old OS....

 There are two possibilities to go on...

ƒ First you can just install the new OS on the Harddisk. This will delete the old OS automatically.

ƒ Second possibilitiy is to format the old OS (e.g in the dos mode type "format c:"). This is better than the first because it makes sure that there are no old files on the disk.

Making bootdisks...

 format the 4 disks as system disks  then exec the e.g. makeboot.exe from the Win2000-server CD and type your floppy location  switch the disks if requierd..

 then restart your system with the new bootdisks

Installing...

 press enter to install it  press F8 to agree license contracts  choose the partition where you want to install it but first look if its in the NTFS format...if not so; delete the partition with "l" and create a new one with the letter "e"  then choose how large the partition should be  then press enter and choose the fileformat you want  now the PC creates a new fileformat...and copy the files on your HDD

installing.....



WAIT A LONG LONG TIME!!!!

 the PC wants to reboot...change the bootsector to c: and reboot.

 click "weiter" --> the only possibility*g*  then the software wants you to input the country you live in(because of keyboard and language setup) click weiter  type your name and organisation (weiter->)  enter product key (weiter->)

 then choose the licensemode..

ƒ we have choosen pro workstation  type name of server and administrator password (weiter- >)  choose the components you want ƒ we have taken them all!!!!(88MB) ƒ (weiter-->)  choose date and time (weiter-->)  setup terminalservice (remote, the more sensitive one) (weiter-->)  click !fertig!

 then this screen appear...

 this is the GUI to configure all components of the server...

 here you can make active directory create Domains and make a lot of stuff..

 if there are Hardwareproblems solve them..for example your networkadapter did not work...download the latest driver and reinstall it...
