• Society community elections for 2015/16 are currently
underway!
• Even if your not planning to run for a position yourself,
please ensure you vote!
• KEY POINT : For your elections to count, you must achieve
a quoracy 25% of your membership voting, or 30
members (whichever number is smaller)
• Voting closes Monday 9th March 9am sharp

It’s now that time, where you decide if you would like to run, in the Soc
Guild committee elections.

If you are interested in running! Talk to our very friendly current execs in
order to understand what the role will be like and things to look out for.

We greatly encourage you to nominate yourself if your interested! We
want you!

Societies festival – Saturday 2nd May

Combination of scheduled staged performances by societies,
society events, workshops and stalls. Remembering to be as
creative and student centred as possible!
II.
Want to hold a pop up event/workshop? send application in by
9am Monday 9th March (FINAL DEADLINE!) No requests for
food/fundraising initiatives will be considered.
III. A meeting will be held, Next Wednesday at 5pm to arrange
which societies will host which games/stalls.
IV. A Facebook group has been created, for alumni to be invited
too.

• I would like every society to please check their budgets
and ensure everything looks in order.
• If you have budgeted for equipment/other things in your
budget, then please buy it ASAP, you can do this by
getting it yourself and reimbursing, or contact
[email protected].
• From savings in the Societies Guild, we have some
money left, so if your society has no money left in the
budget and seek additional funds, you can apply for this.

• If you want Gold Standard you still should be spending
the money in your Union Fund. If you have an allocation
you don’t need then email [email protected]
• We have raised a total across the union of around
£12,000 which is absolutely fantastic! Considering we
have not done any huge fundraising events.

• Food Hygiene forms can be found on the SU website
under societies
1. If you want to sell or provide food, please make sure that
someone present has one of these certificates.
2. You must all provide allergens and a list of ingredients
on show, so that consumers can see what they are
buying!
3. We hate shutting people down but we have to do it for
health and safety.
• Event forms can be found on the SU website under
societies.
• They must be submitted to estates ([email protected])
at least two weeks in advanced.
• Last minute applications will be too late and not
approved.
