Why VWCH Should Fly
Q & A Part 1
Patient & Family Centered Rounding
Q1: Will Anesthetists/CRNAs be involved in
these rounds?
A1: Not at this time, the times of a
patient's procedures will not likely coincide
with patient and family centered rounds.
Anesthetists do meet with the patient
during a pre-precedure visit.

Q2: Can representatives from patient accounts
provide a list of the various bills patients will receive
from services?
A2: General information regarding hospital’s bills
will be available in the guest services guide. Based
on this suggestion, information has also been added
to the hospital website under patient info, patient
financial services. Due to the confidentiality of
patient financial information a separate visit can be
arranged.

Q & A Part 1
Patient & Family Centered Rounding
Q: Can we post signs in the patient rooms, similar to the
housekeeping table tents, saying “Ask Questions” or
something about no question being a dumb question?
A: All staff members are encouraged to end every
interaction by asking the patient if there is anything else
you can do. “Mr. Jones, it was a pleasure talking with you.
Is there anything else I can do for you right now?” This
prompting question encourages our patients to ask linger
questions in a way that a sign never could.

Q: Will radiology be involved in the rounds or can a
member of RAD explain the test and time frame for
results?
A: Radiology staff will be working on implementing
scripting prior to special procedures instead of
participating in these rounds. This scripting will be
used on all patients.
