Rounding to the nearest ten
When rounding to the nearest ten if a number ends in
5 or above you round it up to the next ten and if it
ends in 4 or below you round it down. For example:
 18 rounds up to 20
 31 rounds down to 30
 84 rounds down to 80
 95 rounds up to 100
Rounding to the nearest hundred
When nearest hundred it is the same principle as rounding to
the nearest ten. Anything 50or above rounds up and
anything 49 or below rounds down. For example:
 157 rounds up to 200
 329 rounds down to 300
 678 rounds up to 700
 943 rounds down to 900
The same applies for
rounding to the nearest
thousand. Anything 500
or above rounds up and
anything 499 and
bellow rounds down.
Rounding to a decimal place
When rounding to a decimal place if the number is 5 or more it changes
the next number : the number increases by 1(you round decimals
backwards). For example:
 18.439 rounded to 2 decimal places is 18.44.
 24.807 rounded to 1 decimal place is 24.8
 123.286 rounded to 2 decimal places is 123.29
 675.836 rounded to 1 decimal place is 675.8
