Class requirements
Every day: Write a one paragraph reflection on
what you learned in class that day.
Every week: Be prepared for a notebook quiz
on vocabulary and other topics we explored
during the week.
Every Friday: Write a current event article
about a science topic that you find interesting.
Current Event Format
Every article that you submit should have the following information:
1) The title of the article
2) The author
3) The source of the article
4) A one or two paragraph description of what the article reports
5) A brief description of how the article ties in to IB learners profile.
Each number above (1-5) is worth 2 points. Current event articles are
worth 10 points each week. 10 points x 10 weeks = 100 points or an
‘A’ for a test grade. This is a very easy way to make sure that you earn
a good science grade. Current event articles are 15% of the quarterly
grade.
