Conlusions of the Cracow Meeting

New results in LumiCal simulation studies:

Bogdan, Iftach, Ivan, Pavel, Alexandra.

Some results not in agreement, results relevant for FE Asic design should be documented.

Where we are:

• Design studies of the calorimeters relatively advanced Open issues - realistic detector, including calibration uncertainties, cross talk, noise…..

- realistic beam transport simulations - beam-pipe shape - design studies for GamCal Hardware activities must be enhanced April 24, 2020 IFJ PAN Cracow

• • We found new partners in US, Japan CERN has interest, extending FCAL to CLIC However: • About 80 Physicists signed the report to the PRC - here we are 30 - in the table of ‘FTEs’ working for FCAL I count 25 - engineering support is far from sufficient - diploma students will finish- need replacement - funding in Europe is tight, in US it is far from adequate - support for testbeam activities is not sufficient.

Testbeam and Hardware Milestones

We had a first nice experience with the EUDET testbeam Infrastructure at DESY More testbeam this/next year??

ASIC tests will be continued in the lab. Next steps Irradiation test at DALINAC – just discussions about 1 week testbeam in the fall of the year Laser alignment prototype ready in 2009 (Cracow) FE ASICS prototypes ready in 2009 (Cracow and Fully equipped sensor plane ready in 2009 DESY, TA) April 24, 2020 IFJ PAN Cracow
