PINGYI COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM
Service Project – Village School Decorating
English Teaching & Interaction
Rope Course
Yimeng Mountain National Forest Park which is called ‘nature oxygen bar’,
is one of the most gorgeous and exotic part in Shandong province. Also
historically, the beautiful landscape attracted many celebrities and
litterateurs visiting here, and they had left their footprints and literary
works, which contributed much in enriching Pingyi's culture. Pingyi is a
great program site full of natural beauty and cultural attractions for
students.
Camp Base Yimengrenjia hotel, located at the foot of the Yimeng Mountain, will be our
camp base for every day activities.
Fangping Primary School is founded by a old soldier of Red Army Mr. Du
Fangping, who had been helped by the local villages in the war of 1930s.
Mr. Du donated money every year to this school until the end of his life.
Now they are in lack of fund support to maintain and improve their school
facilities.
The school’s condition is very basic and needs help from volunteers. We will
go to the school for some decorating projects including painting the wall of
the school to make it more visually appealing for the local students, and
using the floor tile to create a walkway that kids also can walk easily in rainy
days.
The local village students rarely have opportunity to communicate with
urban students especially international students. Some interaction
activities will be a great experience for them. We will teach them English,
and do some teambuilding activities / sports games with them.
Hike into the Yimeng Mountain National Forest Park, you will get close to
the real wilderness. You will not only have the experience of hiking, you
will also gain some basic outdoor skills like mountain hiking skills, first aid
skills and navigation skills.
The ropes course offered in Pingyi has both low and high elements. This activity
is a central theme as we establish a set of behaviors and expectations of studen
ts for our time together. At program competition high ropes activities are often
a great reward for all the effort made by students, and is also a fantastic group
bonding final activity.
You will never feel boring after the sunset, there’s varies of activities our
instructors will organize for the team. Dinner making, Leave No Trace Lesson,
night hike, experience sharing around the camp fire, intercommunication
with the locals, and kinds of educational games.
THANK YOU!
We are looking forward to see you in our
programs!
